The Quotient Rule

$\displaystyle \frac{{x}^{{n}}}{{x}^{{m}}}={x}^{{{n}-{m}}}$

When you are dividing two exponential expressions that have the same base, you can subtract the exponent in the denominator from the exponent in the numerator.
