This question asks for an algebraic expression.

With these types of questions, be sure to use the variables indicated. In your answer, you can also use mathematical expressions for numerical calculations.

Examples with trig functions and logs
TypeTo get
sin(pi/3x)sin(π3x)\displaystyle {\sin{{\left(\frac{\pi}{{3}}{x}\right)}}}
ln(x)/ln(7)ln(x)ln(7)\displaystyle \frac{{\ln{{\left({x}\right)}}}}{{\ln{{\left({7}\right)}}}}
arcsin(x)arcsin(x)\displaystyle {\arcsin{{\left({x}\right)}}}

With any function like log, ln, sin, etc. be sure to use proper function notation; sin(3) is OK, but sin3 is not.

Unless the problem gives specific directions, any algebraically equivalent expression is acceptable. For example, if the answer was log(5x)\displaystyle {\log{{\left({5}{x}\right)}}}, then log(5)+log(x)\displaystyle {\log{{\left({5}\right)}}}+{\log{{\left({x}\right)}}} would also be acceptable.
